News: Accident delays traffic on I-264 EB near Norfolk State University

NORFOLK, VA — Authorities were alerted to a crash Tuesday afternoon on Interstate 264 near Norfolk’s Chesterfield Heights area, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

The collision occurred on the eastbound lanes approaching Ballentine Boulevard, near Norfolk State University. It was first recorded by VDOT at 1:38 p.m.

Very few details have been provided, but motorists were warned of delays impacting the area as Exit 12 from the eastbound interstate narrows.

At this time, it remains unclear what led up to the wreck, how many vehicles were involved, or whether anyone was seriously hurt.
