Two Drivers Seriously Injured in Nearly Head-On Collision on Centerville Turnpike South [CHESAPEAKE, VA]

Two drivers were seriously injured Wednesday morning after a pickup truck and a small SUV collided nearly head-on on Centerville Turnpike South in Chesapeake, according to the Chesapeake Police Department. Chesapeake Police and Fire departments responded to the 100 block of Centerville Turnpike South at approximately 9:15 a.m. on August 26, 2026. The adult woman driving the SUV and the adult man driving the pickup truck both sustained serious injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. Centerville Turnpike South was closed between Butts Station Road and Mount Pleasant Road while crews cleared the scene. The investigation into what caused the collision remains ongoing, and police did not release additional details about the drivers’ conditions.
