Speed, Alcohol Suspected After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Fury Way Sends Six to Hospital [Virginia Beach, VA]

A multi-vehicle crash in Virginia Beach left six people hospitalized, two of them in critical condition, in the early morning hours of Saturday, May 31, 2026, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department. Officers were called to the 1700 block of Fury Way around 2:00 a.m. after a vehicle struck three parked cars, setting off a chain of events that required emergency teams to extricate at least one person from a wrecked vehicle.
Virginia Beach Police determined that four vehicles were ultimately involved in the crash, with one vehicle plowing into three that were parked along Fury Way. All six injured adults were occupants of the moving vehicles, not the parked cars. The Virginia Beach Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services responded alongside police, and crews worked together to free one of the victims who was trapped. Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors, police said.
All six adults were transported to a local hospital for treatment. Two sustained critical injuries, while the remaining four were treated for injuries not considered life-threatening. The investigation remains active, and additional details have not been released at this time.
Crashes involving impaired and speeding drivers are among the most preventable, and devastating, types of collisions on Virginia roads. When an impaired driver causes a crash, Virginia law may allow injured victims to pursue compensation for the losses they suffer. Under Virginia law, a drunk driving crash victim may be entitled to pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages resulting from an impaired driver’s negligence.
Virginia’s contributory negligence standard is exceptionally strict — it can bar an injured person from any recovery if they are found even partially at fault. For victims of an impaired driver crash, however, liability often rests squarely on the at-fault party, giving injured individuals and their families a strong legal foundation on which to build a claim. That said, prompt action matters: preserving evidence, obtaining the police report, and seeking legal counsel early can make a significant difference in the outcome of a case.
When multiple people are injured in a single crash, insurance companies face large combined claims and may aggressively work to minimize payouts. Victims who retain an experienced attorney are better positioned to navigate those pressures and recover the full compensation they are owed under Virginia law.
