News: Pedestrian critically hurt in crash near Virginia Beach’s Pembroke Square

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA — A crash near Pembroke Square shopping center Wednesday evening in west Virginia Beach left a 77-year-old woman in critical condition, according to WAVY.

The incident, which impacted southbound Independence Boulevard at westbound Virginia Beach Boulevard, was reported at around 6:00 p.m.

As of this writing, Virginia Beach Police has not released any information detailing the circumstances of the event, but motorists were instructed to seek alternate routes around the scene as first responders tended to the scene.

The intersection remained partially blocked until around 8:30 p.m., when officials cleared out of the site.

An investigation remains underway.
