News: Multi-vehicle wreck causes backups on I-64 near Willoughby Bay Bridge into Norfolk

NORFOLK, VA — A multi-vehicle crash Friday morning blocked several lanes of eastbound Interstate 64 near the Willoughby Bay Bridge heading into Norfolk, reports 13News Now.

The accident impacted the eastbound lanes of I-64, which by 6:00 a.m. caused a miles-long traffic backup that extended past Rip Rap Road.

Although no specific information about the wreck has been made available, the Virginia Department of Transportation said the east left shoulder and left lane at the scene were immediately blocked.

As of this writing, it remains unclear exactly how many and what types of vehicles were involved.

No significant injuries have been confirmed.
