News: Authorities respond to multi-vehicle crash on I-664 in west Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, VA — At least three vehicles were involved in a crash Thursday morning on Interstate 664 in west Chesapeake, causing delays in the area, reports WAVY.

The multi-vehicle accident was reported on the eastbound lanes at mile marker 19.7, near U.S. Highway 58, in the Bowers Hill area. It was first reported by WAVY just after 6:30 a.m.

No information about the cause or nature of the wreck has been made public, but morning commuters faced traffic backups that ran over two miles long.

Alternate routes were advised as emergency personnel tended to the scene.
