News: Accident closes shoulder on I-64 EB at I-464 in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, VA — Motorists encountered delays following a vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 64 in Chesapeake, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

The collision took place on the eastbound lanes of I-64 at mile marker 291.3, near the ramp to Interstate 464. It was first recorded by VDOT just before 2:00 p.m.

No information about the circumstances of the wreck or the involved vehicles have been released, but the east right shoulder was blocked in the immediate aftermath.

As of this writing, local agencies have not confirmed any major injuries in connection to the event.
