News: Teen driver dies after rollover crash on Fentress Airfield Rd in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, VA — A single-vehicle rollover accident late Saturday in southeast Chesapeake claimed the life of an 18-year-old local resident, reports WAVY.

Local police say the fatal wreck occurred in the 800 block of Fentress Airfield Road, near Naval Auxiliary Landing Field Fentress, just before 11:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation found that the teen was operating an Isuzu SUV when, for reasons still unclear, the vehicle ran off the roadway and flipped multiple times.

First responders pronounced the male driver deceased at the scene.

No other occupants and no other vehicles appear to have been involved.

An investigation remains in progress at this time.
