Hampton Shooting: 15-Year-Old Seriously Injured, Wrongful Death Potential

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) — In a concerning incident on Thursday afternoon, a 15-year-old from Hampton became the victim of a drive-by shooting, according to local police. The authorities received the distressing call at 3:51 p.m., reporting that the victim had been transported to Sentara CarePlex Hospital on Coliseum Drive. Initially deemed non-life-threatening, the injuries were later upgraded to life-threatening. Wrongful Death investigation.

The incident took place on the 1st block of Green Street, situated north of downtown off Rip Rap Road, according to the preliminary police investigation. The assailant, traveling in an unidentified vehicle, approached and opened fire on the victim. Following the shooting, the teen was transported to the hospital in a personal vehicle.
