News: Single-vehicle accident on I-64 in Williamsburg kills 1

WILLIAMSBURG, VA -A crash on I-64 northwest of Williamsburg claimed the life of a 48-year-old man last Friday evening.

According to a report by 13 News, the crash occurred when the driver of a 2017 Ford Explorer lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons near the exit to VA-199 and slammed into a roadside tree.

The driver, a man from Mechanicsville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe speed played a factor in the deadly crash; however, the official cause remains under investigation.
