News: Authorities respond to rollover crash on Chesapeake’s Deep Creek Bridge

CHESAPEAKE, VA — Chesapeake’s Deep Creek Bridge was shut down Friday afternoon following a rollover crash, according to WAVY.

The bridge, which carries a span of Moses Grand Trail/George Washington Highway South over Deep Creek, was blocked off as crews worked to remove the overturned vehicle. WAVY first reported about the incident at 3:40 p.m.

It was not immediately clear what led up to the accident, but a red passenger car appeared to have jumped a curb and flipped.

The driver was reported not seriously injured, but officials did not confirm whether the patient had to be taken to a hospital.

No other details have been made available at this time.
