The collision occurred at 2:40 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-64 near the Indian River Road exit, according to Virginia State Police spokesman Matthew Demlein.

“The crash involves a motorcycle and passenger vehicle,” he wrote in an email. “There is one confirmed fatality.” Demlein said he didn’t have any other immediate details, and could not confirm which driver died in the wreck. He said he was working to get more information.
