Driver Cited After Red-Light Crash Overturns Car on North Military Highway [Norfolk, VA]

A Chesapeake woman was killed and two other people were injured when a Honda sedan became lodged beneath a tractor-trailer on Lankford Highway in Northampton County Monday afternoon, June 9, 2026, according to Virginia State Police. A man has been charged in connection with the fatal crash, which was reported by WAVY News 10.

Two drivers were injured Saturday afternoon after a two-vehicle crash on North Military Highway in Norfolk left one vehicle overturned on its side, according to the Norfolk Police Department. The crash was reported on June 13, 2026, in the 800 block of North Military Highway shortly after 1:00 p.m., and one of the drivers was cited at the scene for disregarding a red light.

Officers responded to the 800 block of North Military Highway after receiving a report of a crash with injuries. Upon arrival, they located two vehicles involved in the collision, with one car overturned on its side. Both drivers were found at the scene with injuries. After investigating, officers determined the injuries sustained by both drivers were non-life-threatening, and the drivers were transported to a local hospital for treatment. A 25-year-old woman was issued a summons for disregarding a red light in connection with the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
