News: Driver injured in rollover big rig crash near Sentara Norfolk General Hospital

NORFOLK, VA — One person was seriously hurt Monday afternoon when a tractor-trailer they were driving overturned in Norfolk’s Ghent neighborhood, reports WAVY.

The incident occurred in the 800 block of Hampton Boulevard at Redgate Avenue, just northeast of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. It was first reported at about 2:11 p.m.

Officials have not said what led up to the wreck, but no other vehicles appear to have been involved. First responders arrived on the scene to find the semi rolled onto its driver’s side.

As of this writing, no updates on the driver’s condition have been released.

An investigation remains underway.
