News: 2 dead following motorcycle wreck on Portsmouth’s West Norfolk Bridge

PORTSMOUTH, VA — Authorities are investigating a double-fatal motorcycle crash that occurred Sunday, December 31, on the West Norfolk Bridge in Portsmouth, reports 13 News Now.

The accident happened on the eastbound lanes of the bridge (Virginia State Highway 164) and was first reported at about 8:00 a.m.

According to Portsmouth Police, two people were traveling on a motorcycle when the bike hit a jersey wall. The impact sent both riders over the bridge and down into the water.

First responders pronounced both the operator and the passenger deceased at the scene. They have since been identified as 27-year-old Henry Holmes, Jr., a Suffolk resident, and 35-year-old Anjuli Fine, of Virginia Beach, respectively.

At this time, the Portsmouth Police Traffic Unit continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
