Man Injured in I-264 Virginia Beach Wrong-Way Crash [VIRGINIA BEACH, VA]

A devastating wrong-way crash on I-264 in Virginia Beach left a 26-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries.

The incident occurred just before midnight when the man, identified as Davian Wallace, was driving a Chrysler 200 eastbound in the westbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with the teen, who was behind the wheel of a 2024 Kia Soul.

The collision didn’t end there. Moments after the initial impact, a Nissan Pathfinder crashed into the rear of the Kia, which then pushed the teen’s vehicle into a Honda CRV.

Both Wallace and the 16-year-old were rushed to the hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the drivers of the Honda and Nissan were unharmed, as no injuries were reported for them. The extent of damage to the vehicles, however, was significant, leading to a complete shutdown of all travel lanes on I-264 until the scene was cleared.

As of now, authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the crash. It remains uncertain whether speed or alcohol played a role in the collision, and no charges have been filed yet. Virginia State Police continue to gather evidence to determine the contributing factors.
