Car Crushes After A Being Man Fatally Shot While Driving in Hampton Early Tuesday [Hampton, VA]

HAMPTON, Va. – A tragic incident occurred early Tuesday morning when a man was fatally shot while driving in Hampton, leading to a fatal car accident in Hampton. The victim, identified as 19-year-old Nasir Mosley of Newport News, lost his life in this shocking event.

According to police reports, officers were called to the 100 block of Atlantic Avenue at approximately 12:15 a.m. following a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle that had veered off the road, crashed through a fence, and ended up in the marsh area at the dead end of Atlantic Avenue and Thimble Shoals Court.

When officers examined the vehicle, they found Nasir Mosley inside, deceased from a gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that multiple shots were fired in the 100 block of Atlantic Avenue, striking Mosley and causing him to lose control of his vehicle.

He drove off the roadway, crashing into the marsh. Homeowner Chris Jacobson recounted the scene to 10 On Your Side’s Nick Broadway, showing the tire tracks visible in his yard.

“They were alone and that was their last moment,” Jacobson remarked. “It just doesn’t happen in this area. It is something new, but it shows that it can happen anywhere, no matter where you live.”

Police stated that Mosley was shot around 10:30 p.m., but his body was not discovered until just after midnight. “They were alone for two hours,” Jacobson added. “Who knows how long it took, but they were alone when they died out there in the marsh. That’s disturbing, especially for the family. I pray for their family.”

Jacobson mentioned that this was not the first crime he had encountered while living on Atlantic Avenue. Earlier this year, his truck was stolen and used for drug trafficking, adding to his concerns about safety in the area.

The Hampton Police Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating the motive and circumstances surrounding this tragic incident. They urge anyone to contact the Hampton Police Division at 757–727–6111 or the Crime Line at 1–888-LOCK-U-UP. Anonymous tips can also be submitted via the secure tip form at P3Tips.com.
