News: Pedestrian suffers loss of foot after being hit by train in Norfolk
NORFOLK, VA — One person was hospitalized with a traumatic injury Monday evening after being struck by a train in north Norfolk, according to WAVY.
The incident occurred along the tracks near Newport Avenue and 23rd Street, in Park Place’s Railroad District. It was first reported by WAVY at 6:30 p.m.
Officials have not disclosed the circumstances of the event, but a pedestrian was confirmed to have lost their foot after contact with the train.
Aerial footage captured several emergency vehicles blocking the road in the immediate aftermath.
